Living a free life means to eat when I’m hungry, to sleep when I’m tired and to do everything else in between in how it shows up in my life. It sounds simple to me when I write it down like this, but in reality, I’ve found this often difficult. I frequently eat something when I’m not hungry. I stay awake when I’m already tired and I do many other things instead of the things that I feel truly called to do in that moment.

And yet, I’ve observed that nearly every person I meet lives their lives like that. They do things they don’t want to do and they do things which aren’t the things they really want to be doing in that moment. It is quite strange that we live our lives like this and comical, I laugh writing about it, and yet, it is such a widely accepted condition that it seems to be rarely questioned.

For nearly 6 years now, I’ve attempted to put the freedom back into my life. It means to live without goals or dreams or purpose or agendas. That’s not entirely true, I schedule a coaching call here and there or other appointments with doctors or calls with friends, but by and large, accounting for say 97.6% of my time I do nothing. As in, I often do something, but none of it is planned. I wait and notice what shows up. Regularly, almost daily I feel called to move my body, so I go for walks, long and short. I’m also called to eat food daily, so I eat about 2-3 meals a day. I get horny quite regularly too, so I have sex or masturbate every other day or so. Usually in the afternoon I feel tired and I take a nap. My days go on like this, and also almost daily I notice a whole array of sensations and thoughts connected to old memories that show up. That usually takes most of my attention, because I spent so many years of my life suppressing and not noticing these things.

I’d like to offer you a chance to also learn about living life freely and on your own terms. This means to learn how to notice more and do less. That may be a painful transition for quite a while, it has been for me. And yet, I haven’t experienced anything more rewarding than my ability to notice.

I’ve learned about this ability to notice from a number of powerful teachers, some I will name here: Thich Nhat Hanh, Avi Grinberg, Jesus, Brigitte Schlegel, Peter Levine, Buddha, Maureen Gallagher, Patricia Crittenden, James Finley and others. Spending time in nature and in silence also has and continues to be a powerful teacher for me of this noticing. And then, maybe most importantly, there is my own inner sense of wanting to be free, of wishing to be more in tune with the life that’s wanting to happen through me. Building a bond of trust with this inner sense has maybe been the most difficult and important part of my journey.

If any of this calls to you, you can schedule a session with me and together we will practice noticing. I will coach you to name the things that you are noticing and to slowly begin your life of freedom. Freedom from being unconsciously pushed and pulled by all the things you aren’t consciously noticing. By putting them instead into your awareness, you will notice a shift of the power they have over you – I guarantee it.

I don’t charge anything for these sessions for now. That may change in the future.
